The Resistance
The Resistance was a shining example of the closeness of the Swedish
metal scene, as all of the guys here had multiple ties to well-known
bands, with the most notables being vocalist Marco Aro
(formerly of
The Haunted)
and the duo of one-time
In Flames
guitarists Jesper Strömblad and Glenn Ljungström.
Formed in 2011, the band managed two albums and two EPs before
flaming out (no pun intended) in 2016.
On
Scars, their 2013 effort, the band played downtuned deathy thrash,
not a million miles from
In Flames, with Aro's forceful hardcore-tinged vocals providing an
additional heft.
This was mostly like a second-level priority for the members involved,
as most everyone carried on in the scene after the breakup.
