Kuolemanlaakso

Kuolemanlaakso play a somewhat traditional form of doomy death metal (or perhaps deathy doom metal), with some nods to the familiar standbys like Paradise Lost or My Dying Bride along with influences by fellow Finns like older Amorphis, though arguably they're slightly more uptempo then the norm. The style remains consistent throughout their discography with the glaring exception of *M. Laakso - Vol 1: The Gothic Tapes". The title explains it perfectly, as it's essentially a solo album from guitarist Markus Laakso released other the Kuolemanlaakso name, and the style deviates dramatically from their previous and future efforts, with a strong nod to gothic rock and plenty of Pete Steele-influenced baritone vocals.
