The Agony Scene
Hailing from Oklahoma,
The Agony Scene is one of several American bands in the
metalcore genre.
Debuting in 2003,
The Agony Scene is standard-issue metalcore, with the
familiar Swedish death metal riffs, shouted vocals
(often rather monotonous, though he does have two distinctive styles
which is a plus)
and a hard-as-nails aggressive mentality.
At that time they were signed to the Solid State label
(a Christian label), and while the band
profess to be Christians, they do not wish to be associated
with the Christian metal scene.
They released two more albums before disbanding in the fall of 2008.
