Angelus Apatrida is one of Spain's leading thrash bands, which for some
reason is a bit of a rarity -- Spain has produced many fine metal bands
over the years but few in the thrash field.
They put out two independent albums in 2006 and 2007 before
Century Media
snapped them up, and since then two more albums have been released.
This is prime 80's-inspired thrash, with a slight accessible feel and
some modern touches, so that even though this is undeniably
influenced by the typical flag-bearers (such as the Big 4 of thrash),
this isn't quite a retro rehash, and there's enough variety and strength
in the songwriting for these guys to stand on their own.
Good stuff.
