Alastis
Alastis was the brother band of
Samael,
both figuratively (both bands are Swiss, and both play a sort
of post-black, dark metal style)
and literally (former drummer Acronoise is the brother of
Samael's Masmisiem, and in fact Masmisiem appeared on Alastis'
early demos).
Vocalist War D. remains the only member from the early days,
as the lineups have shifted over the years.
The only album reviewed here is
The Other Side, which compares
favorably with Samael's
Passage release that came out roughly
the same time.
