Wino

For those few who don't know, Wino is one Scott Weinrich, a revered man in the underground doom metal world. Since the late 70's he has plied his trade, never seeking superstardom but content to play his music on his terms. He has led three great bands of his own (The Obsessed, Spirit Caravan, and The Hidden Hand), as well as hooking up in St. Vitus and Place Of Skulls. With his participation in these bands frequently in flux, he started recording true solo material under the Wino monicker in 2009, initially roping in respected Clutch drummer Jean-Paul Gaster and Wretched bassist Jon Blank. The first few albums with this lineup follow Wino's trademark of high-quality stoner doom, while his later collaborations with Conny Ochs are more relaxed acoustic affairs.
