This is something a bit different.
A studio duo (fleshed out with various session members when
they play live), The Vision Bleak plays a rather unique brand
of gothic, horror-tinged metal, with the dominant vocal style
(a deep male gothic tone, almost semi-spoken at times) forming a
moody, haunting atmosphere (several excellent female soprano
vocals are in evidence as well).
There's a near-perfect balance of grandiose arrangements and
straightforward riffing, and this is a pretty original sound
(occasionally Hollenthon
comes to mind, but that's about it).
Very enjoyable stuff, highly recommended.
