Total Devastation
Family death metal (!) from Finland (the band features a pair
of identical twins as well as another set of three brothers),
Total Devastation looks to put their name on the metal map
with five albums released thus far, including 2005's
excellent
Reclusion.
This is prime Scandinavian death metal, brutal and heavy
yet not too caustic, with noticeable industrial touches.
The industrial influence is sometimes faint (in other words,
this is death metal with
an industrial flavor, not a full-on death/industrial hybrid),
but it's just enough to give the sound a slight futuristic/modern
feel, as well as give the band an edge in the originality department.
While not a groundbreaking band, these guys are still flying
under the international radar and deserve more exposure.
