Sunnata
The band name, logo, and imagery speak to Middle Eastern vibes,
but Sunnata hails from Poland,
and on
Burning In Heaven, Melting On Earth they play an
intriguing brand of sludge-inflected post-metal, with shades
of stoner-ism and more than a passing
pyschedelic vibe that brings to mind the late
Alchemist.
In true post-metal form several of the songs are a bit drawn
out and take their time building via atmospherics and the like,
giving a slight relaxed feel even though they punch through
with well-conceived heavier sludgier moments.
