Sirrah
Sirrah was a Polish band existing from 1992 until around
1998, releasing two albums and an EP along the way.
Acme, the debut, is a pretty standard doom-tinged gothic metal
album,
with the requisite various vocal styles (semi-operatic
female, clean male, death growls), plenty of piano/keyboard
work, and mid-paced rhythms.
It's certainly not bad for what it is, but amidst the sea of
gothic metal albums that have come out in the last decade
or so, it's an average release rather than a standout.
Apparently their second album (originally released as
Did Tomorrow Come
but later renamed
Will Tomorrow Come
for some reason) marked a departure from the
Acme style.
They broke up soon afterward, with some members
participating in a later band called The Man Called Tea.
