Sinning Is Our Savior

This interestingly-named band managed to release one self-financed album, Painted With Utter Desolation, in 2004. Desolation is loosely in the melodic death metal camp, though musically they play a pretty complex thrash/progressive style, with frequent riff changes and a good sense of melody, though like many other riff-heavy bands the songs tend to blur a bit. The barked death vocals are rather one-dimensional and might be considered the weak point of the album. There was certainly some potential here, but perhaps not a clear vision of where they wanted to go, as they broke up soon after the album's release.
