Ill Niño
The wonderfully-named Ill Niño forged a decent career in the new
millennium, debuting in 2001 and recording eight albums in a 13-year
span.
Their style was fully entrenched in nu-metal, with the interesting
incorporation of Latin rhythms and influences, giving them a
distinct edge.
Their last album is 2013's
Till Death La Familia.
The group split apart in early 2019, with the band publicly stating
that four members (all but the rhythm section of Dave Chavarri
and Laz Pina) had left the group, with those four quickly responding
that they in fact had not left at all, and later co-opting the band name.
Public infighting ensued, as well as the inevitable two versions of the
band existing at once, which lasted until early 2020.
At that time, an agreement was reached allowing Chavarri and Pina to
continue as Ill Niño while the others would pursue other projects.
