Hellsaw

Cold, the third album from this Austrian black metal band, typifies the modern black metal arena, in that it does little to stretch the boundaries of the genre but nonetheless is a solid performance. This isn't the underproduced kvlt black metal of the olden days, and nor is it of the symphonic or avant-garde variety -- rather, it's relatively standard, midpaced black metal, with a few interesting twists and turns ("Psycho Pastor", for one, has an engaging main riff). Overall, Cold is a good album, not necessarily a great one, but a good listen and a fine representive of the current black metal scene.
