Heavenwood
Heavenwood's
Diva places this Portuguese band squarely in the
gothic dark metal camp, occupied by bands such as
Crematory,
Cemetary, and mid-period
Amorphis.
Vocals alternate between clean and death, and keyboards interweave
nicely with the guitars.
More than competant for the genre, not quite enough to stand them
apart, but worth a listen.
They have not recorded since
Diva's followup
(
Swallow, released in 1998) and have been on a hiatus for several
years, but as of May 2007 a modified lineup was active and demoing
new material.
