Heavy Load
Heavy Load was one of the early successful Scandinavian metal bands,
with a style that might remind one of a primitive
Manowar.
Their lyrics and image, strongly rooted in Viking/Norse mythology
and traditions, might appear a bit dated and over-the-top nowadays,
but their hard-hitting brand of anthemic power metal really hit
the mark at the time.
Their 80's run was relatively short-lived, with the
Wahlquist brothers later becoming producers and owners of Thunderload
Records.
A new record was rumored about for years, and
then talk died down after awhile,
but 40 years after their last release, that new album,
Riders Of The Ancient Storm, finally will see the light of day in
October 2023.
