Goatlord

A cult band from Las Vegas, Goatlord released several demos in the late eighties (recently released as one CD as shown below) before recording their one album in 1991. Goatlord played a raw, primitive form of slow, doomy death metal (though nothing close to what is commonly called doomdeath), with a stripped down, rather hollow production, particularly in the drum department. It gets kind of monotonous after awhile, but on the other hand it is a bit different, certainly not the mindless thrashing death metal coming into vogue at that time. Their one album was released twice with different artwork and title (first as Reflections Of The Solstice, then, a year later with a bonus track, simply as Goatlord).
