Eternal Deformity
This intriguing Polish act was founded in 1993 and released a few
albums on smaller local labels before
Code666
wisely signed them up for their 2008 release
Frozen Circus.
This is complex gothic metal with some adventurous touches and
(due to some swirling, quirky keyboard work) a faint carnivalesque
atmosphere (some go so far as to call this "circus metal", but that
seems overstated, and more appropriate for a band like,
say, Mr. Bungle).
The vocals vary from clean to blackened, male and female, and the
songs are focused yet diverse.
A perfect fit for the eclectic Code666 roster,
Frozen Circus is
a well-crafted avant-garde gothic metal album, and one deserving of
more press than it has currently received.
