Elexorien

Elexorien was a self-described "epic battle metal" band from the Netherlands, releasing a self-titled effort in 2007. Generally speaking this is somewhat like gothic metal on overdrive, as there are clear gothic trademarks (vocal/keyboard styles) but with songs much faster paced and more aggressive. The vocals alternate between angelic female voices and a throaty, harsh male voice, in true gothic metal fashion, At times they wander into symphonic black metal territory, especially when the male vocalist takes over, but this isn't quite black metal, at least not in the traditional sense. They broke up four years after the album's release, in 2011.
