Demons & Wizards

This side project featuring Hansi Kursch (Blind Guardian) and Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth) had been brewing for some time, and finally became official in 2000, releasing a hotly-anticipated album that appears to have met fan expectations, as it combined several elements of both of the aforementioned bands, particularly the latter. Predictably this band went through long periods of inactivity as the two guys focused on their own bands, but two more albums were released in 2005 and 2020. After that, Schaffer's political leanings and eventual involvement in the 2021 Capitol riots proved too much for Kursch, who decided to end his involvement in the project.
