Crusader

Formed in 1996 and operating as a cover band for several years, Crusader's This Mortal Flesh is strongly rooted in indie 80's metal, combining some nice raw power metal riffing with some Manowar-styled melodies and choruses, creating a sound that is instantly familiar and recognizeable yet not really derivative of any one band. There's very little about this band that's contemporary, but their sound is an enjoyable nostalgic ride that relives the best of underground metal from years gone by. They released their second album, Fools, in 2004.
