Black Mass

Black Mass seems like a perfect name for a doom metal band, but these Bostonians instead go for the jugular with their brand of crunchy, energetic, retro-tinged thrash on 2021's Feast At The Forbidden Tree. There are few surprises here, but there's plenty of speed and vigor to go around. Neither wholly derivative nor particularly original, they're still a recommended thrash act.
