Besatt is one of Poland's entries in the black metal field, with a fair
number of albums under their belts though they don't appear to be that well
known.
Reviewed here is 2006's Black Mass, and while it's pretty generic
Norse-ish black metal, to their credit they vary the pace a bit, the
production is competant, and in general the guys know what they're doing.
There's even an homage to
Bathory
in the form of
"Son Of Pure Viking Blood"
(though the song does sound like Bathory, and the band list Bathory as
an influence, Bathory otherwise isn't really a soundalike at all).
A bit more originality wouldn't hurt (the album titles alone indicate
that not a lot of thought went into the lyrics),
but as far as traditional Scandinavian-influenced black metal goes,
Besatt does just fine.
