Agressor

As their own bio has stated, "Agressor are widely acknowledged as the godfathers of French Death Metal". True enough, as their debut release, a split LP with fellow French death metallers Loudblast, is acknowledged as the first death metal album from France. The lineup changes make this look like an Alex Colin-Tocquaine solo project, though this is not really the case. Coincidentally, Colin-Tocquaine joined Loudblast for a spell before returning to this band.
