Unida

Unida is one of the two main bands that eventually emerged following
the breakup of
Kyuss
(the other being
Queens Of The Stone Age),
here featuring vocalist John Garcia.
It will probably be awhile before the Kyuss comparisons go away,
but the fact is that, apart from Garcia's distinct vocal style,
Coping With The Urban Coyote
sounds very little like Kyuss, as the emphasis is more on
rock than metal, and on in-your-face songs rather than drawn-out
jams as seen on the later Kyuss albums.
Legal problems have plagued the band for some time, as their
followup album was originally supposed to be released in 2001
on American Records, but the band is no longer associated with that
label and is seeking another label to release the album.
As of this writing it is unclear when, or even if, that album will
ever be released.
