Trust  


Trust is the grandfather of French hard rock, formed in the late 70's and enjoying major success in their native country for years afterward. Their style was a rather simplistic hard rock style, occasionally in the AC/DC mold, characterized by Bernie Bonvoisin's rough vocal style and lyrics that were often political charged and/or social commentaries. Except for a brief spell in the early 80's (with at least one album re-recorded with English vocals/lyrics), the band was content to remain popular in their homeland in lieu of worldwide stardom. Iron Maiden fans may well be aware of this band since not one but both of their drummers played here, with Nicko McBrain recruited to join Maiden after the departure of Clive Burr, who independently joined Trust for awhile as McBrain's replacement. Their best albums are acknowledged to be Marche Ou Creve and Repression from the early 80's, as some of the luster had faded by the mid-eighties, the band's internal problems leading to breakups and reformations over the next several years. Information is hard to come by on this band (at least in English), thus some of the discography/member information may not be complete or correct yet.
