Silver Mountain

Named for the
Rainbow song
(a favorite group of founder Jonas
Hansson), Silver Mountain showed a strong classical influence and
a sound that crossed Rainbow with the heavier NWOBHM style of the
day.
This was one of the earlier bands for the Johansson brothers (Jens
and Anders), both of whom later enjoyed success with several other
artists, among them
Yngwie Malmsteen,
who himself was in an earlier incarnation of this band.
The debut,
Shakin' Brains, is the BNR favorite, an excellent album.
They broke up in the late 80's following their
Roses And Champagne effort, with the original lineup later
reuniting in 2001 for
Breakin' Chains.
Hansson has released two albums under the name
The Jonas Hansson Band, and also has a band/project called Classica.
