Rose Tattoo
Rose Tattoo will always be known first and foremost for their
vocalist, the diminuative bald man known as Angry Anderson.
The Australians debuted in 1978 with a self-titled effort,
featuring a clear
AC/DC
vibe but with a style all their own, due in part to some inventive
slide guitar work as well as Anderson's distinctive vocals,
that at times might sound just a bit like Bon Scott himself.
The band continued in the eighties, with the lineup changing over
time, though by around 1986 or so the band was done.
A reformation occurred in 1993 (Guns 'n Roses requested that they
open for them on an Australian tour), and after more inactivity,
a new version of Rose Tattoo was put together around 1999, resulting
in a live album and their most recent studio album, 2002's
Pain.
Anderson has kept busy with various projects over the years,
and also famously was featured in the movie
Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome.
