Ram

Swedish metal from Gothenburg often means melodic death, but here
in Ram we have a fine traditional metal band that, with their 2009
album
Lightbringer, solidly brings to mind the best aspects of the
80's metal scene while still retaining some freshness and originality.
Influences are many, none so evident as the
Mercyful Fate
worship on "Awakening The Chimaera" (right down to the King Diamond
inspired vocals), but for the most part Ram blend and incorporate
their influences seemless without sounding like copycats.
As metal marches on and explores new boundaries in the new millennium,
it's good to hear that some bands keeping the old style in vogue.
