Nail Within

Israel may never be a true metal hotbed, but it is no longer a complete wasteland for metal either, with bands such as Salem, Orphaned Land, and Melechesh making some noise on a worldwide scale. Nail Within is another young Israeli band, having formed in 2001 and with a self-titled debut album released a year later. Nail Within is a melodic death metal album, very much sounding like Swedish bands of this style, and while the album doesn't overwhelm with originality, it's not really a faceless clone either, and a couple of guest appearances by well-known names such as Mille Petrozza (Kreator) and Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates), a good reference point for Nail Within's musical style) certainly doesn't hurt. A revamped lineup was announced after the album was released, followed by a period of inactiviy while some members appeared in Betzefer, but apparently the band, possibly with the original lineup, is back in action as of late 2007.
