Masters Of Reality

One of several bands taking their name from a
Black Sabbath
title (though they sound nothing like them),
Masters Of Reality debuted in 1988 with an excellent
self-titled
album, their brand of southern, bluesy rock/metal garnering
several well-deserved stellar reviews
(album closer "Kill The King" has long been a BNR favorite).
But the band couldn't keep it together and soon split up,
with two members forming a band called The Bogeymen and
band leader Chris Goss eventually picking up the pieces and
starting anew.
Goss, however, gained greater fame as the producer of
Kyuss,
both band and producer now well-known as innovators and major
influences on the then-new stoner metal scene.
The Masters have continued ever since, keeping a relatively
low profile touring and recording occasionally, with a
revolving lineup surrounding Goss.
