Mary Beats Jane

Kind of a curiosity here, a relatively unknown Swedish band that doesn't sound Swedish, signs to a major label, releases a couple albums (only the debut is reviewed here, no other information is currently available on Locust) and then disappears. The music here is pretty heavy, post-thrash with vaguely hardcore-ish vocals and some intense riffing, with one similarity possibly being fellow Swedes Transport League. Vocalist Peter Dolving was later seen in The Haunted but left there after one album.

As of April 2003 the band is reported as back together, long term plans uncertain. More recently (Oct 2003) come the news that Dolving has rejoined The Haunted. He has stated that Mary Beat Jane is still together and working on new material.
