Lake Of Tears  


Lake Of Tears' early career parallels that of Cemetary, with a dark yet melodic gothic metal style (indeed, Cemetary mainman Mathias Lodmalm produced the Greater Art album), but it's on A Crimson Cosmos where the band really kicks into gear, incorporating 70's psychedelics and a noticeable Pink Floyd sound somewhat reminiscent of Wildhoney-era Tiamat. Since then the band has been an on-again, off-again affair, as they first announced their breakup even before 1999's Forever Autumn, making that albums more somber, self-reflective acoustic mood all the more poignant. Mainman Daniel Brennare announced a new project called the Neonai, but instead that turned into the band's fifth album, after which time they once again announced they were through. And in late 2003 the band was once again alive, and have since released Black Brick Road in 2004 and Moons And Mushrooms in 2007.
