Klimt 1918

Taking their name from the Austrian painter Gustav Klimt and the
year of his death,
Klimt 1918 has a pretty strong debut on their hands in
Undressed Momento.
The style is the sort of soulful melancholic rock/metal reminiscient
of later-period
Anathema
and
Katatonia,
but there is a noticeable 80's dark pop influence as well
(the band professes their like of bands such as The Cure and
Depeche Mode),
an influence that works much better than the description might
suggest.
Momento is particularly mature for a debut album, and fans
of the aforementioned groups will do well to check out these Italians.
