Hollow

Hollow's style blends
Mindcrime-era
Queensryche
(vocal melodies
and some of the less heavier moments) with a tradition Euro power
metal base
(
Helloween, or perhaps
Conception, come to mind).
The Queensryche tendencies have led some to put this band in the
progressive category, but they don't really belong there, as they
are more a melodic power metal band.
The vocals are clear and melodic (occasionally too much so), while
the guitar work is crunchy and effective without overdoing it.
Though they don't rate too high on the originality scale, they have
all the right elements in place -- melodic power metal fans should
like this band.
They were dropped from Nuclear Blast and were presumed to be no more,
but in fact they are still active.
