Fly Machine

Fly Machine was a spinoff band formed by the rhythm section of Confessor after that band's breakup in the mid-nineties. In comparison to Confessor, Fly Machine is less doomy, and the vocals are more conventional, but the quirky songwriting remains. Indeed, Fly Machine is even less conventional than ever, featuring twisting riffs and strange drum patterns. Exactly not the kind of album to which one can mindlessly tap his/her feet, but instead an album that takes a bit of effort to really listen to. To these ears, the effort is worth it, as Fly Machine had an original and very inventive sound worth investigating. The aformentioned rhythm section (Cary Rowells and Steve Shelton) later returned to Confessor, signalling the end of this band.
