Eyehategod specialize in sludgy doom spiked with anguished hardcore vocals, perhaps the best personification of the style of metal eminating from the New Orleans area over the years. A rather turbulent career here, with the band oft reported as breaking up between albums (partially explaining the members' involvements in other bands) -- it was widely reported that the band was truly finished after Dopesick, but the band eventually got it together, eventually releasing two albums in 2000, one (Southern Discomfort) an odds-and-ends collection of demos/unreleased material, followed by the proper new album Confederacy Of Ruined Lives. Their most recent output, 10 Years Of Abuse (And Still Broke), culls together a 1990 demo, a 1994 radio broadcast, and a 2000 European live performance.
