Diamond Head  


Diamond Head is one of the more well-known bands from the NWOBHM (due in no small part to Metallica's numerous covers and unabashed acknowledgment of the band as an influence), and their debut album, Lightning To The Nations, remains a classic of the genre. Upon their signing to MCA in 1981, worldwide superstardom was predicted for the band. But neither the rather hollow Borrowed Time nor the more experimental Canterbury really caught on with the public, though both have their moments, and by 1985 the band seemed to have had enough and disbanded. Many years later, the Harris/Tatler duo (always the core of the band) decided to reform, and eventually released the more poppy Death And Progress before disbanding again around 1995. Several years after that, Tatler and Harris put together yet another version of the band. A new album was recorded in 2003 but has not yet been released. The band's work has been re-released in many versions over the years, with the most recent being a 2-CD anthology released in March 2004.

In August 2004, longtime vocalist Sean Harris left the band on friendly terms, due to musical differences. With his replacement, Nick Tart, in place, a new album, All Will Be Revealed, was released in 2005.
