Crescent Shield

Crescent Shield is the third go-around for
guitarist Dan Delucie, originally in
New Eden
before branching out to form
Destiny's End.
That latter band produced two strong albums
before rather abruptly disappearing around
2001, but soon enough came the word
that Delucie had a new project in mind.
Along for the ride this time is former
Onward
vocalist Michael Grant (though he sadly passed away in May 2012),
as well as a
rhythm section with experience in the
American underground traditional metal field.
The style on
The Last Of My Kind, then,
is no surprise, as it's chock full of classy
riffs/solos from Delucie and strong vocals
from Grant.
Arguably this isn't terribly adventurous for the
style, and certainly it's not very contemporary,
but there will always be a need for quality
80's-influenced traditional American metal,
and Crescent Shield fits the bill.
