Caldera

French instrumental post-art-doom? Why not? Apparently this band has been around in one form or another since 2001, and at one time experimented with vocalists, while finally releasing their debut album, Mist Through Your Consciousness, in 2008. Often they sound like they'd slot in the atmospheric hardcore genre (if they had a vocalist), what with their modern arty riffing and plenty of lighter moments balancing the heaviness. There aren't a lot of instrumental bands playing this style (much less from France), so kudos to them to playing a pretty unique style on their own terms.
