Acid King

Formed in 1993 in San Francisco by Lori S., Acid King's
first two
albums represent different takes on the stoner/doom sound,
with the earlier
Zoroaster bearing a slight
similarity to a slower version of early
Kyuss,
while
the more recent
Busse Woods is further slowed down, with
drawn-out heavy riffs reminiscent of
Electric Wizard,
and rather
sparse vocals.
Both are solid albums in the stoner field and are quite
recommended.
The band recently released their third album,
appropriately titled
III.
A trivia note: Lori was once married to
Melvins drummer Dale Crover.
